MISSIONS WORK

WMA is a Ladies Group that meets on the 3rd Sunday of Each Month following the Sunday Morning worship Service.  A Free Potluck Lunch is provided for all in attendance.  WMA works on providing for the needs of our church and people in our local communities.  All Ladies are WELCOME to Join!

Brotherhood is a Men's Group that meets at the same time as WMA.  The Brotherhood maintains the working condition of our church and assists people in our local communities who need construction work, yard work and other projects.  All Men are WELCOME to Join!

CLOTHES CLOSET HISTORY

The year's first deep freeze cold front was about to hit the East Texas area as we approached November of 2022. "Oh Lord!"  I cried. the cold about to hit us and so many people need coats and warm clothing. SOMEBODY should do something! God replied, "First Baptist Church of Omen is SOMEBODY." Thus, the First Baptist Church of Omen CLOTHES CLOSET was born! 

A call went out to our local communities asking for clothing donations and GOD ANSWERED

MIGHTILY! Clothing donations began to arrive in full force and continue to arrive all the time! Our Original Clothes Closet (November 2022 - June 2024) was held in our church fellowship hall. By November of 2023, we had outgrown the fellowship hall, and we wondered how to proceed with the Clothes Closet. 

After prayerful consideration, our church began making plans to erect a New Building dedicated to housing the Clothes

Closet and to be used in future ministries as they might arise. This building was completed and dedicated to God in the early part of July 2024. Our First Clothes Closet in this New Building was held on Thursday, July 25, 2024. We had 7 families

visit us that evening! 

(In the Bible, 7 is the number of Completion!)

Our hearts are deeply touched by the needs of the elderly in our communities, and we serve them by aiding in their spiritual need. Our church has an ongoing Nursing Home Ministry.  We are proud to have 2 Nursing Home Teams that carry the Gospel of Christ to the residents of Texas.  Every Sunday afternoon, our Nursing Home Teams share the Love of God through, Songs, Messages, Movies, & more.  Everyone is invited to join us during these Sunday services.
